Here at Willington Surgery, we continually strive to provide the highest standard of healthcare.  Our multidisciplinary team are caring and responsive to patients' needs regardless of age, gender, disability, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religion.  We support and safeguard children and adults in need.  We encourage patients to be pro-active in the management of their care. We promote choice and personalised care whenever possible.

At Willington Surgery we would still ask you to only visit the surgery if you have a pre-booked appointment or essential paperwork (which you can place in the box outside) If you do attend for an appointment we would ask that only the patient attends.  All other enquiries should be done via the telephone, your systmonline account, by downloading or using the NHS app or via our Online consult system which can be found on here

NEW SERVICE - Medicines orderline coming from 18th August 2021.  

For many years we have not accepted prescription requests over the telephone due to patient safety, but working with the established Medicines orderline from 18th August you will be able to call the dedicated line 0115 855 0260 between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday for you repeat prescription request.  We have taken on board patient feedback on implementing this service.  For more information click here

In light of recent government guidance, all patients will be required to provide and wear their own face-covering when attending an appointment at the surgery. Thank you for your continued support. You can find out how to make one here.

If you feel you should be exempt from wearing a mask you do not need to contact us but can download a Badge, mobile phone image or a card to show to people.  You can also download and print of specific card if you have been diagnosed with Autism here.

The vast majority of individuals will be able to wear a face covering to help reduce the risk of transmission of this potentially fatal disease.

There are, however, certain groups of people who are exempt from this requirement and they include:
• children under the age of 11
• people who cannot put on, wear, or remove a face covering:
o without severe distress
o because of any physical or mental illness or impairment, or disability (within the meaning of section 6 of the Equality Act 2010)
• people travelling with, or providing assistance to, another person who relies on lip reading to communicate
• people travelling to avoid injury, or to escape a risk of harm, and do not have a face covering with them

Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.

We are currently receiving very high demand on appointments so to ensure you are able to get the right appointment for your condition, our team of trained receptionists will need to ask you for a little information. This will help us ensure you see the most appropriate member of the practice team as quickly as possible and with the least delay. Please share this information with them - it's entirely confidential and the majority of our patients are happy to do so.

Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.

Access

The Practice is easily accessible and user-friendly for our disabled and wheelchair-bound patients. There are designated parking spaces in the car park and a wheelchair is available for those with difficulty in walking - this can be obtained through our reception staff.

There is a ramp at the surgery entrance to aid wheelchair access and a lift inside the building. There are also toilet facilities for the disabled near to the front entrance to the building

If you experience any problems, please speak to our reception staff, who will do their utmost to assist you.
