Young People

Young people often find it difficult to talk to their parents or family members about health matters. The doctors are happy to speak to teenagers without their parents being present. Anything that is discussed in the surgery is confidential and we would not tell anyone else, including your parents, without your permission. If you are worried about being seen in the surgery by people you know we can try to fit you in when fewer people are around. You can always ring us for advice.

The doctors and nurses can give advice about contraception, sexual matters and any other health worries. We can also chat about relationships, school, exams or anything else that is bothering you.

You do not have to be over 16 to ask for contraception advice or be prescribed the pill.
